My Top 10 Albums of 2014 #8 Devin Townsend Project - Z² Its a 2 Disc content... packed with a whole lot of awesome stuff. Nothing about it is boring or drab... The 1st disc has more full rich content with similar sounds to the previous Epicloud which stunned me. The first disc features Anneke Van Giersbergen, my favorite female vocalist and she is all over the 1st Disc. Their blend of vocals is great and the production on the 1st disc is heavy yet melodic and atmospheric at times. Disc 2 is polar opposite... its fun, its got a story, going back to the Ziltoid story... so much fun, yet filled with a powerhouse of talent on every sound. Had me laughing and also banging my head to the awesome riffs belting out. Also, great work my Dominique Pemquin, of the band Stolen Babies for her guest appearance. I had read a blurb saying she did a song with Devin for the album... but she as well appears quite often on Disc 2 and adds an awesome presence to the story and silliness on the album as well as just great vocal stylings as well.
