My Top 10 Albums of 2014 #9 Anathema - Distant Satellites I honestly expected to be higher... but, I fairly assessed it with the others to come and there are some static parts. Also, after the two huge albums Were Here Because Were Here and Weather Systems, its very hard to produce something to that magnitude. This is an incredible album... but the flowing theme didnt seem to flow with the Parts 1 & 2 as well. however, each song felt on their own quite perfect and solid. So its not as high on my list. The songs Anathema, Dusk (Dark is Descending), Distant Satellites, Take Shelter, & Firelight (an instrumental...but is stunning) are my picks. And the one striking the most is Youre Not Alone... hearing that played on album or particularly live is incredible... the quiet build up and then solid hard hitting full force of the whole band in your face and ears.
