My Top 5 Singles ever - the #Mod list Thought Id better do this - TopicsExpress

My Top 5 Singles ever - the #Mod list Thought Id better do this one first for Kirsty Darrell. When it came down to it, the decision was made by Goosebumps: which songs raised the hairs on my arms with electrical charge. There were a couple of close contenders (My World, Secret Affair; News of the World, The Jam; Cut My Hair, The Who), but what did it boil down to? The Long Acres and The Outrigger. The all-dayers at the latter and the once-a-month gigs at The Acres with Aggy (and later, Stafford Neil) spinning the discs - they were the best times of my life. Talk about growing up fast. No wonder Im a bit schizophrenic; school boy by day, fearless Northern Soul hunter/dancer by night. And notice the hippy-mod-on-acid dancing I referred to in Kirsts post (displayed admirably in the videos for numbers 1. & 2.) that Bilston never quite took too? No wonder Me and Higgsy went to Brum so much when we were kids. Herewith, the list: ► 5. Ill Keep On Holding On - The Action: https://youtube/watch?v=Mg9pwMri8gI ► 4. I Dont Need No Doctor - Ray Charles: https://youtube/watch?v=OXjMl5tS-ao ► 3. Wade In The Water - Graham Bond Organisation: https://youtube/watch?v=cEDfoigu4lM ► 2. Green Door - Wynder K Frog: https://youtube/watch?v=8Wmin4Y-Iqk ► 1. On The Brink (aka Boogaloo Investigator) - Mike Vickers: https://youtube/watch?v=7hvlvd0ntUA For their 5 fave singles of all time (to compliment my mod list), I nominate: • Mark Pinson, • Frank Chamberlain, • Ade Plimmer, • Jason Bettelley • and Chris Dillon. No doubt they all have a tale to tell in music, too. ☺ Ive created a YouTube playlist with these five tunes; heres the link: https://youtube/playlist?list=PLFcrMehQSEu-jDjLObXO9o197OYHout3G
