My Tribute to Debbie. In my 50+ years on earth, God has blessed me with many of great friends and I cherish them all. Sadly tonight, I said goodbye for possibly the last time to one that has been in my life for nearly 17 years. Debbie OBryan Bing came into my life just a few months after I started my job and we have worked together for all of these years until last Christmas when she was first diagnosed with brain cancer. I cant even begin to share all of the fun (and not so fun) times that we have shared over the years. The tears, the laughter and everything in between. We were inseparable for more than 15 years as co-workers and friends. For 16 years there is not a single event in my life that Debbie did not share in. Before I met Liz, she was my matchmaker (really Debbie, did I deserve the one with the wort on her nose), she was my cheerleader as Liz and I started to date and was integral in my planning on the night Liz and I got engaged. She even helped me to design the wedding rings that Liz wears today. We have been there for each other through every major event in our lives including (ironically) the turmoil of house fires for both of us, the upbringing of kids with issues, car wrecks, friends in trouble (the night I had to bail a friend of hers out of jail), and all the nights of dancing at Coney at the singles dances we used to go to on the weekends. Tonight I said what is most likely my final goodbye as I kissed Debbie on the cheek and left for the night to go home. To say that my heart is breaking is an understatement. For 16+ years Debbie and I spent more time with each other than any other person in my life with the exception of Liz. I know that life will go on. But life without Debbie will certainly be different. The world is about to lose a truly special and caring person. I will miss her dearly. To all of her family, please let me thank you from the bottom of heart for allowing me to spend the time with all of you tonight. Debbie was truly blessed with one of the greatest families I have ever had the privilege of knowing and the care and love you have shown her over the past year is truly inspirational. No one could ask for more. Please continue to keep Debbie and her family in your prayers. Her time on earth is nearing the end but her time in the glorious realm of our Lord is nearing.
