My True Story Most families start out With a husband and a wife Two people come together To build a wonderful life Well mine began a bit different The best surprise In the world When I realized I was having a precious baby girl While she was in my belly A cherished thought passed through my mind It was her and me forever With a bond of the strongest kind I fell in love before I saw her Before I heard her first heartbeat This was it, I finally found What would make my life complete That absolute perfect moment She was here and she was mine The nurse placed her in my arms There was no doubt she was divine Everyone was enchanted By this magical baby girl She was the apple of my eye She was my treasured little pearl Then one winter day, She put up the rarest fuss While a handsome gentle man Fell in love with both of us A glorious summer wedding And A baby brother too The picture perfect family It was too good to be true I wish I had known then How short lived it would be She was just so young This was nothing we could foresee To watch her grow for 15 years Was a gift beyond compare She rode upon her golden horse My sweet girl with golden hair Everything about me changed Every thought and every breath From the moment she was born Until her devastating death Sometimes I feel so empty now So lost and so alone However there are days I realize things Ive never known everything looks so differently A sunrise or shooting star I see these as her messages That she isnt very far Heaven seems a little closer But then again so does hell I have times I live in either place and times I Cannot tell I hold firmly onto love And cling tightly to hope They get me through the days And give me strength to cope Today I may be wiser And quite a bit stronger too Than I ever thought I could be After all that Ive been through Losing someone seems so final Our human minds cant comprehend I realize more than ever though Death certainly is not the end By Tina Ottolino-Kranz
