My Wife has placed this post on her face book page, which by sheer chance I did find.. Oh, how she mocks me, Oh, how she makes light of this severe debilitation, only matched by the Bubonic Plaque in its severity. I have been smitten by the harshest of smotes and what do I receive in return ? Jesting, Frivolity, Humour...whilst I lay here, clinging grimly to the last shreds of life my body so meekly proffers....... My Husbands assessment of the common cold or the man flu According to husband of mine the common cold affects our genders completely differently. What we women catch, is a simple cold with a sniffle. However, something happens in the DNA sequencing when this virus comes in contact with the population that has the Y chromosome. According to husband of mine, what women catch is a simple cold and because it is just a simple cold this allows us the ability to continue perform all of our required duties some of which include but not limited to tending to children, housework, nurse, taxi driver and or maintaining full time work outside the family home. Now according to husband of mine when this vicious bug attacks those with the Y chromosome it transforms into this killer virus that will apparently have those with the Y chromosome on their death bed thinking that at any moment they will die from this malicious life threatening germ. This illness has the capacity to drop even the strongest of men in a matter of hours. They can go from being completely well and happy to laying flat on their backs moaning that at any moment death will be upon them. Moans of pain and cantankerousness can often be heard coming from the site of these poor afflicted beings. It can affect them for days leaving those around them very wary of going anywhere near them. According to husband of mine God has made this nasty transformation of the virus to allow men to experience the pain that the women of the world endure during childbirth. According to husband of mine, we (being those blessed with the X chromosome) have no understanding at all of what they (the Y chromosomes among us) are going through, as the virus (hereto for known as the Manflu) affects them completely differently and that we gain some sort of wicked pleasure watching them suffer this way. The manful! What a wicked, wicked illness this must be to allow the suffering of these wonderful men in our lives. Poor, poor babies. From A very concerned wife. (heheheheheheeheh)
