My Worlds Toughest Mudder 2014 goals: 1. Last 24 hours: Result: positive! 2. Increase on my 112km from last year: Result: I completed 112km + lots of penalty runs, so yes, positive! 3. Increase on my 49th placing from last year: Result: 23rd place and 1st in my age group. Big positive! 4. Able to walk down Las Vegas strip unaided: Result: Yet to be done (tomorrow), Very confident though! Now, I did have 2 secret goals. 1. Go 75 miles......I ran 70...so just a bit short. 2. Top 25 position.....I came 23rd....very happy! So, this last 6 months culminated in probably the toughest 24 hour race I have completed so far. There was lots of water. There were lots of upper body obstacles. Good for me.......both my strengths. Now, I know you are all dying to find out.....I did not get zapped by electricity once! I did not have to pee in my wetsuit once. The Leap of Faith was replaced by the cliff jump. My 3 fears from before the race were all deleted. I tell you what.......my mindset was much better knowing this. I cannot believe I took out 1st position in my age group. I was not expecting that and it is something I will hold dear for a long time. I have worked hard all year and stuck to my set training plan. Being a personal trainer, I believe programming is one of my strengths. I will race cap all week in posts but I can say that Tough Mudder Headquarters delivered again. A brutal course made even harder by the cyclonic winds and sandstorms overnight. A massive shout out to all the Aussies who competed and their support crews. I felt inspired every time I saw another Aussie on course and my favourite memories were running laps with my mates Nigel, Steve, Sam and Paul. My cameraman Wes, has some awesome footage for our doco......it is epic. He filmed the whole 24 hours! Stay tuned......... Thank you to everyone at home for your generous support and well wishes. I did get a little bit emotional reading all your messages and posts. It meant a lot to know you were all following us back home. I love this sport. I love the obstacle racing community. It has a special place in my heart. Right now, I am pretty tired. Body pulled up sore but good. As mentioned, I will post up reports all week. I have some pretty cool stories............. My Journey to Worlds Toughest Mudder has nearly ended. The race is over but the aftermath is yet to come...... #jaselydom #geelongboxing #worldstoughestmudder #wtm2014 #smaifitness #obstacleracing
