My adventure to 200! So yesterday’s run started like any other - TopicsExpress

My adventure to 200! So yesterday’s run started like any other run, me wondering why in the hell am I up this flipping early. It was a nice flat course as we started and then the hills snuck in…as I was running down one I was laughing thinking how fun it was but on the way back I was cursing that witch of a hill. It was an over cast morning and a little chilly but nice still the only thing that was really bugging me were my hands they hurt in the cold as well as the rest of me but it was my hands giving me fits. So I focused on my watch and my pace I knew I could do my 6 in under a 1:40 I just had to focus and push. So there I am on my happy little way when I catch this big black blob out the corner of my eye and think “oh crap I hope that’s not a bear”, needless to say I slow like an idiot and get a better look turns out to be an opening to a huge drainage pipe “phew” and curse myself for slowing what if it was a bear you idiot. The rest of my run goes pretty uneventful and I am enjoying my surroundings since I’ve never ran this trail before. As I am making my way back trying to stay on pace I step on a baby snake yep that’s right a dead baby snake but still a snake…I had a heart attack of all the flipping things to step on, so because of said snake my butt started moving dead or alive I didn’t want to be near it. I was on pace and feeling good until that evil hill came into sight it took everything I had to get up that witch and not stop till I made it…once at the top I paused my watch and stopped to catch my breath drink the last of my water and then I was off again. Feeling tired but still good I had less than a mile to go, when I hit my half mile mark for some strange reason I started crying. I was just so overcome with emotion and the thoughts that came flooding into mind…I did it, I was doing it, and no one or any stupid medical condition was going to stop me. I finished my 6 miles to get my 200 mile goal, Jen and the rest of the BRC FIT team was there at the end. Jen high fived me and proceeded to tell everyone I had just ran my 200th mile and took my picture with my sign. So my next goal to reach is 500 miles to get there I am doing 2 half marathons this year and will still run when school is in session not giving it up this time. Thank you to everyone for all the encouragement and the text/phone calls on the weekends telling me to get up and get going, 300 to the next celebration!!!
