My answer to What are you thankful for? ... I am thankful for drinkable running water, both hot and cold. For a roof that doesnt leak, for walls that stand firm against the wind, for a solid floor that isnt dirt. For a washing machine. For a rich variety of foods, only a few blocks away, that travel to me from around the whole world! For a refrigerator that keeps perishables fresh much longer. For lights that reliably turn on - in any room at any and all times - at the mere klik of a switch. For a home - Temple Synphorium within which I can be so self-expressed (also Self-expressed). I am thankful for my laptop, for the fabulous infrastructure of cables and satellites and servers that make communications like this one possible. For the engineers and designers and entrepreneurs who create tools like Facebook and GoPro and Skype and MP3 that become extensions of our body-minds, shrinking the limitations of time & space for each of us. I am thankful for the healing arts, both hard-science-based and the more mysterious energy-based. For being able to live my life how I choose, taking full responsibility for the consequences of my actions and in-actions. I am thankful for those who forgive me when I slight them, as Ive done recently. For falling down 7 times, yet getting up 8 (spiritual practice). I am thankful for the lives that touch mine, those who move and inspire me. For my friends, those I know and see and touch. For those I know thru the web, thru books, thru history, thru images, thru ideas. For my wife Emily, who is my rock. For blood family and chosen family. I am thankful for hugs, for wide-eyed open-heart meditation, for awaking each day to the often challenging and often blissful strung-together moments we call life. I am thankful for music, for DJing. For my gong & bowls & flutes & melodica. For the way music moves my psycho-physical being. For Spirit which stirs with-in. I am thankful for another day, given to me, and also given to anyone reading this. This precious human birth. I bow my head in deep Gratitude.
