My approach will be to post excerpts that stand out to me (labeled Marcus), followed by how I interpret them (labeled Josh). Some good ground rules for this study are listed below. Marcus: To read with diligence; not to rest satisfied with a light and superficial knowledge, nor quickly to assent to things commonly spoken of. (The First Book, pg. 12) Josh: Always seek the deeper meaning of life and others. Do not disregard perceptions, but never take things at mere face value. There is a deep-rooted meaning in peoples actions, and studying how we (humans) react and respond allows us to enrich our interactions with others. Dont go with the flow or discuss what everyone else is familiar with to appease or buy favor with the masses. Seek meaningful conversation, and be well versed enough to do so in a humble and receptive manner.
