My attention has been drawn to comments by CORD luminaries Ababu Namwamba, Anyang Nyongo and Moses Wetangula to the effect that the exercise of registering Kenyans aged 12 years and above is a plot to pre-rig the 2017 General Elections. These spurious claims expose the soft underbelly of the below par opposition. It should be put in consideration that the situation of our national registration documents deteriorated completely between 2008 and 2012 when ODMs Otieno Kajwang was in charge of the immigration ministry. So widespread were the irregularities under Mr Kajwangs watch that the national registration database is beyond repair and it has to be reconstituted afresh. It is common knowledge that Hon Kajwang oversaw a system that was completely porous resulting in many aliens acquiring documents irregularly. The buck of insecurity in this country stops largely at ODMs doorsteps. The fresh registration exercise is an effort to remedy that era of Kajwangs errors. It however provides CORD with a very early opportunity to do what they do best:- making claims that the reason elections exist is for them to be stolen. Among the CORD leaders complaining was Moses Wetangula. He continues to occupy his senatorial position illegally after the court of appeal ruled that he should be removed from office due to electoral malpractices. His claims are meant to intimidate IEBC from doing what they will ultimately do:- declare his seat vacant
