My aunt Carol passed away yesterday. She was my aunt for 50 years. My uncle met her when she was a go go dancer in a cage. LOL. I loved her so much. She was brash, sassy, funny. A girl from Colorado who married into a Latino family and didnt miss a beat. We actually danced the worm at my sisters wedding to the horror of all the guests! HAHA! She was one of the strong women in my life. One of my She-Bears! I was raised by strong women: my two grandmothers, my Otra Nana, my Mom, my aunts. What do strong women raise? STRONG MEN! I am so grateful for my Aunt Carol. My aunt Betty. My Aunt Mary Gutierrez. And of course my rock - my Mom Carmen Gloria Duran. They taught me much. And it shows that today my closest and dearest friends are also strong women! @Diane Abbitt.
