My beautiful client Tanya came to the salon and said she was ready for something different. Normally she is a blow out with a straight bob. I would classify her hair texture as a medium density and soft and spongy. As you know this texture is very susceptible to heat damage and is very deceiving to the average eye. Most people would over dry it and put the heat on hell to keep it from reverting. Im completely opposite and have been very gentle with her care so she had a massive amount of new growth that made it the perfect opportunity to do a big chop. I asked her to show me her ideas of styles she would want to try and she was of course showing me images of shoulder length and longer, which was amusing to us but also gave me an idea of how to coach her in this big chop. Now Tanya was not sure this was what she was ready for but you know Edward Scissorhands will take it down in 2 seconds flat and make you ride out. With a little push, she jumped and we dove into the natural pond 100%!!!! Congrats Tanya you know I have your back in this process and will be here to support you all the way and thank you for being such a great sport in this video. By the way ladies as we finished her with a 2strand twist and she was dealing with her big reveal, she encouraged the next client in the chair to do the same, just a lot shorter. The lesson is, in the moment of fear and discomfort, your courage to choose strength shows up in the world immediately and has such a positive impact.
