My beautiful cousin, Christine Simpson wrote this heartfelt post today about her memories of my Dad. It truly brought tears to my eyes. I hope she doesnt mind that Im sharing her wonderful words... Thank you again everyone for your prayers. Unfortunately, Uncle Tony passed away this morning. Uncle Tony was such a great man, so sweet & so funny. His girls were his pride & joy as Im sure his grandchildren also are. Venessa, he used to show us all your pictures from when you were little. One time when I was little he brought over Abrielles pageant video from when she almost had her funny little dress mishap because he was so proud of how she kept it together. He taught us how to be gentle & kind to our animals because of how he babied Poochie even after she grew old & lost her sight. He gave us some of your amazing childhood toys when we had so little of our own, having left most of our belongings when we left the Philippines. (Now that Im a Mom I realize how hard it is to let go of such sentimental things.) You know, he was my first AOL chat buddy? And when wed talk & I was feeling lousy he never wanted me to focus on the negative. You two were so lucky to have had such a father & he raised such beautiful, resilient daughters. Hes looking over you right now & I know he is still so proud like hes always been. No more pain, no more suffering. Just peace & the warmth of Gods embrace - the reward for a life well lived.
