My beautiful daughter has Type 1 diabetes. It is an autoimmune disease that is life threatening. Sudden onset, lack of a cure and inability to prevent the disease are all characteristics of this disease, but she is in a rare minority as Type 2 diabetes is a growing epidemic and garners the majority of media coverage. The ONLY HOPE for my daughter and those like her is a CURE.
