My beloved friends and family, I have waited literally a lifetime for this decision to come down from SCOTUS. Years ago when my peeps were all just kids (in our late teens / early 20s) We dreamed of a day when our relationships would be recognized as real under the law, and not just in our hearts. Now GLBT kids can grow up with a sense of dignity, knowing that their country recognizes them, and that they / we can all be married (if we choose) and protected under the laws of marriage in the state of California and else where in the United States under federal law. We now join other parts of the progressive and enlightened world that have since made marriage equality a reality for their GLBT citizens. I am proud to have been a part of a civil rights movement within my community in Long Beach, as well as the greater LA region, which has lead to this moment in California and US history. I want to thank all of those that have been a pivotal part of my personal, as well as our overall political journey toward this monument. This is one of the happiest days of my life...We did it. Yes we did!!!! Prop 8 is overturned and D.O.M.A is abolished. We are "EQUAL" Hallelujah!!! I wish love, hope and happiness to you all!!! It is the dawn of a new age for California as well as for America. Finally, we are now on the road to eventual full national recognition in all states of the union...Cheers everyone!!!
