My biggest competitor is Myself All of a sudden, the journalist asked me a dangerous question that required a dangerous answer! Who is your biggest competitor in Drama Ministry?. I replied by saying only one person. He was inquisitive to know, probably suggesting answers in his mind. I believe he was ready to use my next response as his headline. But I disappointed him. Myself, I responded. He waited for a few seconds and then went on: Yourself? My next response too a few minutes. I told him that many times there was always a struggle between myself and myspirit over the affairs of the ministry. At a time myself needed a car for his comfort but myspirit needed a new film to bless people. At a time myself needed to travel to England on holiday but myspirit needed a new film for the public. At a time myself needed to eat the best of food but myspirit wanted to give money to the poor. At a time myself needed to tell people how much I am worth but myspirit wanted to keep quiet. At a time myself wanted to go to parties and make friends but myspirit wanted to organise a crusade. At a time myself wanted to do some expensive shopping for my family but myspirit needed to sow special seeds to homes that cant afford food. At a time myself just wants to abuse Jonathan and his wife on facebook but myspirit simply wants to pray for them. Many times myself is always subdued by a higher power so that myspirit can be at his best. Its not that myspirit wants myself to suffer but its just that myself must be patient for myspirit and must endure now to enjoy later. So when myself wants to travel to England seven times a year, myspirit permits a trip si that those funds for traveling can be used to produce meaningful films. So, my greatest competitor is not the Drama minister whom God is using to also do exploits. My greatest competitor is myself who wants the best for himself. Some people see others as threats to their business and ministry. Some pastors cannot stand the success of their fellow pastors. Some ministers waste meaningful time on meaninglessly maligning other ministers. Yet when others are praying at night, they are sleeping. When others are reading,they are gisting. When others fasting, they are eating delicacy. When others are investing every dime on their business, ,they busy boarding planes on debts! When others are drycleaning their old wears,they are busy owing tailors! When others are multiplying wealth, they are buying new cars with loans! When others are appealing for space in churches to host their concerts, they are borrowing all over to rent expensive halls. When others seek the opinion of pastors and spiritually healthy leaders, they take their counsel from beer parlours! And when the wise rise into stardom, they see them as competitors in the market of skills! I have therefore learnt in life that my biggest competitor is not the smart guy who knows the rules but the unruly self who outsmart the rules! MY OPINION
