My birthday was a day filled with love from all my family and all of you on FB. I read every note from each of you and was completely overwhelmed with the warmth of friendship. I had the great honor of celebrating this day with the great people from the North Michigan District of The Wesleyan Church at their annual Celebration of Ministry Lunch and Ordination Service in beautiful Traverse City/ Bayview Wesleyan Church They even had a special chocolate birthday cake. That night I read the incredible tribute my sister wrote. Well I must say that that evening after my 8th birthday party and my grandparents took me to the hospital and I looked at Shirley through the window of the nursery - I couldnt wait for her to get home so I could hold her. I now had a real live doll and I knew all my friends just had fake ones!!! Shirley has been that genuine , authentic sister who continues to teach me about courage, curiosity of ideas, living in various cultures , grasping languages, and of course the massive world of music and literature. Only God could fathom the interruption of my 8th birthday party.
