My boyfriend is black and my family hates it. They treat me so bad. They never send money even though they promise I have nothing to worry about. I starve and stress so much that I cant even focus on grades. My boyfriend tries to help but I feel so guilty. I get so depressed that I dont want to leave the house. Now, they blame my boyfriend for my sadness and failure at school. I came home for the first time in a long time for Thanksgiving and its like I just got out of a mental institution or something. They talk to me in short sentences and never want to talk about my boyfriend or how I am or anything. When they look at me they have a face of anger. All they see is black and failure. Even still, I refuse to adhere to their old south customs. I love my boyfriend so much. I love my life outside of my parents home so much.
