My brain is splitting in two so this is as far as I got today... I plan on working on more tomorrow. But this way you stay updated as to WHERE I am in the charter... the end is approaching... ******************** Article VI – Advancement among the ranks of the guild Each rank has its minimum knowledge required. Incoming members may petition to be of a higher than a standard member but also must fulfill as outlined in Article II for Membership. While judging images can be compared to judging art, all judges will have the same criteria in which the images and projects will be accessed. Judging Individual Photographic submissions 1. Originality -Does the photograph bring to light something rarely seen or seen a lot? -Does the photograph tell a story, or part of one? -Was the capture done in a way that drew you in? (How and why) -What made this picture say “wow” to you? (if not, then how could the photographer take it to that level?) 2. How is the technical quality? -In focus? (or if not, was that intended?) -Exposure: Is it too light or dark? Are there blown out or underexposed areas? (do those areas add to or subtract from the image?) -How was the depth of field in the image? Were you drawn in or did you have to figure out the subject? -Use of contrast? Too muddy or too much contrast. -How was lighting handled? -How do the colors look? 3. Composition? Framing? What should and shouldn’t be in the frame? (could the photographer shift to avoid the issue?) Where is your eye drawn to? 4. How is the overall impact? -What emotion do you feel when you look at the photo? Or lack of? -Did the photographer capture his subjects in a natural manner or do they look tense, posed or stilted? -Did all the elements come together in a positive way for the photographer?
