My brother, Roger, served in the US Marines. He was a very special man that wound up, in the end, broken. His one true love was serving his country and when that came to an end, he just couldnt deal with life. He passed away at the age of thirty-five. Although this may seem a bit selfish, but Veterans Day, for me, is about honoring the memory of Roger Wallen, USMC. When I was young, he was a hero to me. At his funeral he was honored with a heros 21-gun salute. At his funeral, I made them play his favorite song -- Higher by Creed.
