My brother, the Honorable (retired) David Audlin, has put my thoughts and feelings well: Thinking of our brothers and sisters in France, who are under attack by barbarians and fanatics. In the end, civilization will triumph, though the battle may be terrible. In the words of the philosopher Voltaire, Fanaticism is, in reference to superstition, what delirium is to fever, or rage to anger. He who is involved in ecstasies and visions, who takes dreams for realities, and his own imaginations for prophecies, is a fanatical novice of great hope and promise, and will probably soon advance to the highest form, and kill man for the love of God. I will add, for those who are prompted to hate Muslims because of such horror.... The Western media, owned by the plutocrats who gain power and lucre from war, are heavily bombarding the West with rhetoric designed to make us hate Muslims, to think they are all terrorists. DO NOT SUCCUMB! Of course there is a minority of individuals who pretend to be Muslim (but are not, for the Quran does not condone such wanton destruction), but they are no more representative of a beautiful faith than are the many examples of so-called Christians engaging in wanton acts of bloodshed. The majority of Muslims worldwide decry this kind of horror and speak out against it, but the Western media do not tell you this, wanting you to think most Muslims are complicit through silence. THESE ARE LIES. Islam is not the problem - those who engage in vicious acts of violence are the problem. And so, too, are the media who lie at the beck and call of the puppet masters, the ultra-rich monsters who crave control of Mideastern oil fields and want the taxpayer to pay financially for their acquiring this power and profit, and those in uniform as well as innocent people everywhere destroyed by violence, to pay the ultimate price. I am firmly on the side of peace -- SHALOM, SALAAM, SHANTIH, SKENNEN.
