My children are 5th generation Monteagle Elementary students dating back to the early 1900s. I am a proud mom of a 7th grade and Kindergarten Hornet! I cannot sit back and let this school be pushed to the wayside. Unlike previous attempts, this seems to be quite real. That being said, I do think we need to wait until the new administration takes office and see what their views on the subject are. They may not be so inclined to close our school. We should take this time to get our information in order. Get all our facts straight and be ready for their first school board meeting. We need info on state, county and city levels. We need a committee, but we only need 1-2 spokespersons. People with level heads and public speaking skills. We still need EVERYONE in the community and ALL Parents to participate. But if we go to a meeting and they feel threatened, we will get nowhere. And if the crowd gets out of control (i.e. yelling, name calling, etc) the police will be called in and the meeting will be ended. We have to do this tastefully and with class. We ARE MONTEAGLE ELEMENTARY! WE ARE HORNETS! And now, to what is not intended to offend, or anger, but probably will. I am not the admin on this page. I did not create it, however I do not want people bashing others on here. We are to be a united front. Just because you don’t like someone on here, doesn’t mean they cannot help. We have lots of people who can politically and socially be of assistance who do not have children at MES or may not even live in Monteagle, yet they were asked to contribute and should be heard without criticism. KEEP YOUR CONFLICTING OPINIONS TO YOURSELF. THIS IS TO SAVE OUR SCHOOL, NOT A BOARD FOR BASHING THE PEOPLE YOU DON’T LIKE.
