My children are always asking me to go to the community park. So you can imagine their excitement as I lead them there. As we walk their energy level steadily increases the closer we get. When the park is in sight they are ready to burst and have a tendency to run ahead of me. This is a problem because there is a busy roadway that we still need to cross. Seeing their goal in sight, however, seems to shutdown all reason so I must assert myself and in their mind unnecessarily delay them. All they can see is me holding them back and not the dangers Im protecting them from. We eventually get to the park. Theyre still oblivious to the potential harm Ive saved them from but thats alright with me I got them to the destination safely. I think of God and His promises to supply all of our needs and what I deem as unnecessary delays to answering my prayers. I shrug my shoulders and enjoy the park.
