My children are in the other room, playing Little Big Planet. I - TopicsExpress

My children are in the other room, playing Little Big Planet. I just heard Charlotte turn to Elliot and say, very seriously make me a promise. By his response, I knew that while I *taught* them that word, they had between them developed a meaning that was beyond and outside of me. For the first time I knew what it must feel like when my parents watch me with my brothers--we are so much their product, and yet the life and history weve formed between ourselves is wholly our own. Even to the point where--at times--the bond between us excludes them. So this post is for my siblings, those who fought their way through the same childhood battlefield. Theres nothing like a brother or a sister. They know your verbal shorthand, the defining moments of your life, and the best ways to piss you off.
