My church sign calendar today says: Being rich is not the same as being valuable. God says: Matthew 6:19-21 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. James 2:5 Listen, my beloved brothers, has not God chosen those who are poor in the world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom, which he has promised to those who love him? 2 Corinthians 8:9 For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you by his poverty might become rich. Matthew 19:24 Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.” Luke 6:38 Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.” When we view the world and all there is as Gods creation and therefore His possession then we truly do not own anything. For some they are entrusted with much and some with very little, but if our focus is on the Lords desires we are all truly rich. Rich from the free gift of Gods grace and His promise of life eternal in heaven. Rich in serving a loving God that provides us with true peace and comfort in the knowing He will always be there for us. In serving God we experience true happiness which cannot be found in any materialistic things of this world. God does not deny us things of this world, but when we truly love and live for Him our perspective totally changes. It is then that we feel our lives have worth and we become precious in the eyes of God. To help you on this journey try doing P.A.C.K. (Planned Acts of Christian Kindness) on a monthly basis with your church group. You will see God at work through you as you freely serve others in your community. Not just people in physical need, but all people that may be struggling inside with spiritual needs. It is a whole new approach to sharing as well as showing Gods love to others. Please go to acts18.org and sign up for your FREE P.A.C.K. Program download.
