My church sign calendar today says: Beliefs dont make a good person-- behavior does. God says: Matthew 5:16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. 1 Peter 3:16 Having a good conscience, so that, when you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame. Titus 2:12 Training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, The struggle for all mankind is that we were born into sin. With our God given ability to learn an incredible amount of knowledge along with a free will to make our own decisions God knew when the time was right to deliver His commandments to us. A set of rules for us to live by. Guidelines to keep us from harm. He did this out of His enduring love for His creation. That is where we fail constantly. We knowingly and unknowing sin everyday. We must humble ourselves to this fact and kneel at the feet of our savior Jesus and ask for His forgiveness. But through this forgiveness, the staying in His word, and surrounding us with fellow believers we are able to many things that give God the honor & glory He deserves. So believing is important because that brings about faith, which in turn allows us to do good works. If others cant see what a difference God makes in our lives then we have not served God properly. It is only through God that we are able to truly do good works. By doing P.A.C.K. (Planned Acts of Christian Kindness) on a routine basis you can learn how doing good works in the name of Jesus can impact the lives of others in your community in a big way. You are not earning your way to God, but you are showing Gods gift of grace to others giving God the glory for something that cannot be bought.
