My church sign calendar today says: Disappointments are often His appointments. Wow, these are getting deep! How I am going to interpret this is that God allows or even intercedes in our lives to achieve an outcome that He desires for us. This reminds me of a great line from a Garth Brooks song; Some of Gods greatest gifts are unanswered prayers. We can only see in the moment and when things do not happen the way we want when we want it disappointment sets in. But God sees the entire picture and how things will work together to achieve His ultimate goal for all eternity. Gods word: 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance. Philippians 4:6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 1 John 5:14 And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. Romans 8:26 Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words Gods plan may be to appoint you to help someone who is experiencing a disappointment in their life.
