My city I filled with people of love, and harmony. In a society - TopicsExpress

My city I filled with people of love, and harmony. In a society where diversity is not uncommon, and people are not afraid to speak to each other. If only we would treat our city, the way we do with one another, with love and harmony. Building after building, sidewalk to road, and brick on brick. We’d like to think we care about the environment as we do for our families. We try, but there are too many buildings, the ground covered in cement. There is a lot of grey and red, and not enough blue and green. We are a working class, a chic city. Regardless of where one is situated, downtown or in suburbs, there is a lot of grey and red, and not enough blue and green. The city is maintained by la Ville de Montreal, whom does their best to keep it environmentally savvy. Keeping the garbage off the ground, recycle, and there is a view of nature in every corner. Yes, it is quite visible but there is a feel of sad and emptiness. Grass tries growing through the concrete as if sending cry for help. It is fighting against this floor we stumble. There is a shadow throughout the city, because buildings do not let the air breathe freely, and the sky seems even further away from us, as if trapped in our city. This is not how we treat each other, so why the city? Montreal is filled with parks, regardless of where children play and people converse. The city is well maintained, and makes sure to have these places of green every here and there around town. Why must we go to a park to escape? More and more, condos are being built in every single corner where there was empty. It was not empty, the ground used to breathe. Now we dig holes deep in the ground, as deep as we could, and build a tower as tall as possible. The peace and harmony we once had with the earth is getting replaced with something that makes profit. Does that mean as humans, this is what we do to each other? Focused on the profit of what other brings and no longer look for love and harmony? I love my Montreal, but this beautiful is being deceived by the people in it. We need to be at peace with the earth, and change starts within. So when I look at Montreal, I always look outside, looking in, and I make sure to do my part to let things breathe, and I always search for the love and harmony.
