My comment on the article Going local: Chandy gambles on govt is now displayed on timesofindia. Generally I avoid reading any public or private opinion Oommen Chandy makes. However, going local caught my attention. People of Kerala have their own justification and reasoning for casting their votes in favour of the Congress or the BJP or the Left Front. In Kerala, Hindu community is not communal and don’t go by any herd culture as G. Sukumaran Nair or Vellapally Natesan trying to dictate. Therefore, and even if congress wins few seats in Kerala, Oommen Chandy shouldn’t take credit; people don’t vote for congress to show their gratitude towards his petticoat government. All lizards feel they hold weight of the wall. The female chicken makes a balk sound; the male chicken is the one that makes a good alarm clock; and takes credit for the sun rise that happens every morning. If Oommen Chandy still feels little responsibility as the honourable Chief Minister of Kerala, I would humbly request him, please do spare little time evening today, sit comfortably at the opulence of his Cliff House and compare his statement of growth with lives of adivasies at Attapadi; check conditions of roads and other infrastructure facilities in Kerala. There are thousands of such cases where his promises, claims and achievements never met; like railway tracks they run parallel and never meet. Oommen Chandy basically and professionally is a politician and therefore might be thinking if all problems are solved and Kerala becomes a heaven one fine morning what is his role as a politician, what role for his son and daughter in politics in the future; therefore he keeps all problems alive.
