Rammed in the rear , the Cyclist had NO CHANCE ? Because he is a SINGLE MAN , does not mean that HIS Friends , Colleagues & FAMILY , did not VALUE his Life ! Met a Garda Officer near Loughrea in May as i was riding there on the way to the Giro . This Sargeant of the Traffic Patrol told me then , what had taken place . THIS traversty of Justice , sends a STRONG Message to the Garda ! it says WHY BOTHER , as the incompetent will turn YOUR GOOD WORK , into CRAP ! Do they want to fill the Prisons with Felons for being caught using their Cell phone a 2nd time? If they dont Jail a KILLER , then they wont Jail a thoughtless Mum , OR , a Could care less Businessman that uses the mobile phone to pass the time as they drive ! PRESUMED LIABILITY LAWS exist in the E U , they should be in USE , in EVERY English Speaking Country , but then the laszy lawyers would lose their favourite income stream ? Traffic Violence that results in DEATH or serious injury , has ONLY ONE outcome to decide , HOW LONG IN PRISON ! As to the Illegal felon , HE wants to return to Brasil ! Will he be able to work to pay off this shamefully inadequate fine ? Will he be paying Eu10 per week , because he has inadequate funds ? He has relatives in the area , known to MY relatives , will they assist ?Since he wants to be in Brasil , there is no point in a deportation order ? As to the driving licence , lost for 2v years , that sends another Pathetic Message about the value of the LIFE LOST ? Sitting dressed in my cycling clothes on that wet Monday , i listened to 2 sets of my reli.s , take the There but for the grace of GOD approach ! Courts in English Speaking Countries need Judges with special training in handling Traffic Violence Deaths , THEN , be held accountable for Deriliction of DUTY , when they behave as this apparently incompetent has done ? Would the Judicial decision have been different if the Family Member of a Police Officer , OR , Judge was the victim in this case ? HOW MANY more FAMILY supporters , will DIE in Traffic Violence , before LAWS are implemented to ensure JUSTICE ?
