My comments (from elsewhere) on the Enders Game boycott: ...Card has been openly homophobic for many years. (He also has a hard-right-wing Islamophobic / Christian crusader / de facto white supremacist stance re: the so-called War on Terror). That being said, I heard he took pay up front for book licensing rights and gets no residuals (i.e. nothing from ticket sales), though depriving him of that cash isnt the only reason to boycott. E.g., the story is one of those pretending-to-care-how-war-is-heck stories thats actually an evil warmongering recruiting tool (like Saving Private Ryan), in this case specifically training kids that being a mass-murdering drone pilot is cool. Evil evil shit.
