My comments on the attached letter/story: This is not the best way to handle this type of situation. Children with weight issues are already picked on for that, one of the commenters said, how bad the child that gets the letter must feel when other kids are getting candy. If she truly wants to help, there are better ways. Start a neighborhood bootcamp/exercise group for the kids and dont just target the overweight kids. Someone mentioned give out healthy snacks or just dont participate. If she really wants to inform the parents, then give the letter directly to the parent and not pass it through the child. It all boils down to what are her true motives - to help or to shame the child and/or parent? I repeat, this is NOT the best way to handle this situation.
