My comments this morning regarding the trolling of negativity towards the supporters of public education in BC!: Ive busted my butt to work as a single mother to successfully parent 2 kids. Without the alliance and social-economic AND highly valuable public education system propagated by generations before us; this would never have happened! My children and I worked with amazing educators who continue to be passionate and professional about their work in the public education system in BC as well as other provinces and countries. I also had the opportunity to finish a degree, work as a coop UVic grad student with the BC Education ministry. I witnessed the transition from the BC NDP to the Liberals within the system. What is eroding BC public education started right away in 2001 with a parasitic seizure of every educational resource nurtured and developed by previous governments and BC citizens! Today in 2014 we are witnesses to the slow and painful death of publicly funded education as we are experiencing the erosion of public health care. Just as nurses and healthcare workers were bullied, and contracts torn up; we are witnessing the same with our educators in BC and other provinces. This is a direct result of governments not governing and acting as private corporations investing in their own political parties interests.
