My comments to a friend who said that spineless dems were the major problem! Just my humble opinion. --- MEP On a serious note... The problem is that politics doesnt appeal to the people MOST impacted by them and most at RISK from them. So the dems try to appeal to the folks likely to vote...and many of them are moderate or independent! We are outmanned and outgunned on TV, radio, and the web! And the folks that need to pay attention and be informed, would rather watch Honey boo boo or The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Middle (White) America is brainwashed and bigoted. All u need to say is God, guns, and country...and they come running. They have been convinced that the freeloading poor that the Teapublitarians speak of, are black, urban and poor...when in reality, THEY are the majority of welfare recipients and their states contribute the least to the tax base. But the nature of their bigotry leads them towards the belief that they are somehow superior to the caricature of the welfare queen that the right has created and espoused. So they vote with the very people that hate them....so long as they believe in God, guns, and country. We have to reach the poor, the disenfranchised, and the YOUNG!! I am sitting at my sons football practice and he has told me that an overwhelming majority of his team, young, poor, black men....did not vote... I dont get it! So spineless dems dont appeal to me Any more than they do to you. But we need to identify the real problem...and that problem is us....AMERICANS...as a whole!!
