My companion cat Bill died last night, privately, hidden in the laundry room. I think she wanted to spare me this passage. She lived long and well, never sick and although the lowest on the pecking order of the four animals who lived with us, she outlasted them and had her years as queen of the house. She was still coming over and purring next to me and on my lap yesterday. She made a gentle splash in our lives and entertained us with her characteristic warmth and welcoming friendliness to all (well, dogs not so much, but even them she put up with). A life well purred and well shared, thanks kitty Bill. {{{{
