My concern with the #ICC is not so much the culpability of POK, DPOK and Sang moreso that if DPOK is found guilty of the said crimes and POK turns him in the wedge between the Kalenjin and Kikuyu will never be bridged. It is Kenyans not the international media who will be left to a country in a state of war. And if neither POK or DPOK is found guilty..the #ICC process just installed two warlords in office..and if both we will be left either a pariah state if they refuse to cooperate or in a constitutional vacuum if they are incarcerated. Has The ICC acted as a deterrent ? Politicians still brazenly butcher citizens as was in the Tana and Bungoma..so what was the point? Unless Kenyans deals with their own demons by strengthening the local judicial process so that no one will be above the law .. we will never know true peace, justice and rule of law. The ICC is a shortcut that weakens Kenya for the longhaul. It denied Kenya an opportunity to chose her better self by creating a siege mentality among certain communities. It empowered those it seeks to incriminate who Kenyans themselves given an opportunity would have spoken against at the polls..like they have in the past. Its already cost lives. those witnesses and their families will be left at the mercy of the powers that be when the dust settles. Its installed a duo in office who have little interest in strengthenig judicial mechanisims or correcting historical injustices. Its a distraction.. instead of nation building the country is disillusioned and will remain so until this cases come to their conclusion. So however you slice this cat..it is bad for justice, bad for peace, bad for development and bad for Kenya.
