My contribution to Halloween! These are images from the late 1990s - does anyone recognise the good people in these pictures! Some of you might get two of them - one or two people might get the other two! This was in my face painting for dramatic effect phase - originally in colour - they were part of a project for an exhibition I did at Charnwood Museum and one (that also used masks) travelled via an another exhibition in London to the permanent collection of a Japanese museum. Scanned from my original test prints. This little dabble back into painting led to the (very) weird Changing Faces film and then to the somewhat strange eight foot high one eyed pink Janus head that graced an Artspace exhibition at the Generator Gallery, through which you could watch the said film. These images taken with my trusty Olympus OM1N with a couple of desk lamps for lighting and a rickety old ironing board as my tripod! :-) If anyone fancies a photographic face painting session - has three or four hours to spare... :-) I have face paints and a camera or two!
