My conversation with Logans therapist after his feeding therapy on - TopicsExpress

My conversation with Logans therapist after his feeding therapy on Tuesday: Miss M: He ate a half a graham cracker again today. (Actual biting and chewing) Me: Did it take him a long time again? (The previous session, hed taken the whole hour to do that.) Miss M: No, he did it a little faster today, and we introduced cheese puffs. (Logan has a fear of cheese puffs. In the past, he has been offered cheese puffs as an alternative and then always chose whatever she was really wanting him to try instead of the cheese puffs. That was a motivational tool, and he was willing to try almost anything else other than cheese puffs. He didnt even really want them on the table. So, I was shocked when she said theyd been introduced.) Me: Did he actually take a bite of a cheese puff? Miss M: No, but he did touch one to his lips and teeth. It made the graham cracker look really good! God bless Miss M. She really loves Logan and has figured out what works with his thought processes, his oral sensitivity, and his major fears to help him make progress one step (or cheese puff) at a time. ...whatever it takes!
