My cousin, Rhonda Rendahl Ray, shared this on Rachel Williams Molash page and I stole it. in reading some of the comments one person rights about how the turtle is getting his last bath before being cooked that the turtle is severely dehydrated and trying to get as much water as possible and goes on and on about the cruelty in the shipping of turtles. You make up your own mind if it is a pet enjoying the shower massage or trying to escape being turned into a meal. This is what I commented to his/her reply: I have a red eared slider, Crush and a yellow belly slider Squirtle. BOTH love the water! Crush is almost 8 years old, well at least my daughter, Rachel and her boyfriend at the time, found him walking through the tennis courts at the high school that long ago and kept him. Squirtle we purchased just a few weeks ago at a Pet store for a friend to Crush. When I empty their pond and am filling it back up Crush makes sure he goes right under the streaming water from the hose. He doesnt do any fancy dancing like this happy turtle is doing but he does come crawling right over to where he hears the water and goes in and out of the stream. While Kush may be correct in telling how he/she has seen or heard of the killing of turtles I dont think this is the case here. For one I cant think of why the cook would have selected a large shower to clean his/her food; a kitchen sink or hot pot of water for rinsing like a lobster would make more since. I think it was the way this person lets his/her pet roam around in a safe environment while the cage/pen is being cleaned. When they returned to get the turtle they saw the enjoyment in the shower they taped it for us to also enjoy and smile at. I do not think this was a pre-killing event.
