My dad, Herb Maistelman (of blessed memory) was an 18 year old kid when he liberated the Dachau Concentration Camp and stood guard over the trials of the Nazis. Hard to believe that he was only 3 years older than his 15 year old grandson Etan Maistelman when he left his home in Rensselaer, NY to fight the Germans. Below are pictures from the Dachau Courtroom and of liberated prisoners. These folks were the greatest generation.
