My dad saw his 81st birthday in October. It was his last. He passed away today. Hed had several strokes which rendered him paralyzed on his left side and unable to talk for three years but to those who knew him, he hadnt really lost his power. He was a Marine Corp Sgt. Major. He received the Purple Heart and Silver Star for his heroism in the line of fire in Vietnam. My first date ever he scared the kid to death - he took off his shirt to show his physique, was spit shining his boots and told the kid if he didnt have me home by exactly 9 oclock hed come and find him - and by that time hed be cleaning his pistol that sat displayed on the table. That kid looked at his watch every 3 seconds for the entire date. Im thankful for the good memories. Im thankful he passed away with no pain or suffering. And Im thankful he passed on with his full personality and memory in tact. Im not going to be around a lot this week or next. Love you Dad. Baruch Dayan Haemet
