My dad was a Chevy man and always collected cars. For many years - TopicsExpress

My dad was a Chevy man and always collected cars. For many years he had a new one right off the lot every two years. Then mom and he bought a 1936 rumble seat coupe like the one they had when they got married. He got into restoring them and had many really fine cars. The one on the left is just a fun shot I borrowed but the one on the right is of one of my dads cars. (now owned by another couple) They brought it up to honor moms passing last year and parked it right in front of the church. Right off the assembly line way before mom and dad bought her,she had been driven in the Portland Rose Festival as the grand marshalls chariot .. When mom and dad bought her she gave her the name Rose. Years later she was the first woman to officially drive over the Fremont bridge in Portland Oregon when they had the grand opening. Mom was president of her old car club and the city used the clubs cars to shuttle dignitaries across the bridge. Dad not only collected old Chevs he also collected Corvairs. Most of my kids learned to drive in a Corvair. My father felt everyone should know how to drive a stick shift.
