My daddy fell last week and may have broken a rib. Hardheaded as he is, he FINALLY went to the VA hospital in Monroe today. My daddy is a Veteran of the Vietnam War and fought with pride for this country and even today takes pride in it (even as it is headed to hell in a hand basket at a very high rate of speed!)! He gets there today in major pain and they tell him that there is nothing they can do there and that they will have to send him to Shreveport for an X-ray, as they did not have a machine for one there at their facility! Ummm, I know small doctors offices that have X-ray machines in their offices... Why does this VA hospital not? Why cant this country take care of the men and women that have served it? Why cant our Veterans get the healthcare (physical and mental) that many of them need and very much deserve? Its so sad that there are so many handouts awarded by the government for those that dont need it, but not enough or any help for the many who have earned it!
