My daddy left Ireland in the 60s for work un UK.Experiencing discrimination.Worked hard.Mother living in a hostel sepaerated frm her husband curfew in when she cld Cme and go.Housed in one small room with three children. waited three years for a house.In the 70 s Birmingham bombings.my daddy self employed cldnt get work because he was Irish.I experienced my mammie begining spat at.during this time because she was Irish. (reefed the woman) :) And now the families living in Australia again had to pay our way,no handouts and worked hard. when she racial card is used the Irish know too well how it feels.just speak to the generation of the 50s.60s.70s.In my daddies words. U get off Ur arse and work hard,do the job well , make a difference where ever u go.Give others a hand if there In a hole, remembering u were there once.A leg up not a foot down. Rip Georgie Timmins.
