My dads been in the hospital for over a week now with pneumonia which exacerbated his severe emphysema. We were told he has lung cancer and he underwent a biopsy last week, results were negative due to the doctor not being able to get to the exact spot where they suspect the cancer is. His pulmonologist said that he is operating on 25% lung capacity and the biopsy set him back to the point where he was hesitant to recommend any further tests. So as far as were concerned the cancer is irrelevant. Were just gonna take what we have and the time we have with him(which we have no idea how long) and make him as comfortable as possible. A physical therapist is working with him to get him up and about as he is very weak. Hopefully we will be able to get him to a long term care hospital here in Ruston (if he needs it) before we bring him home.
