My daughter, Amanda, was finished vet school and handled Lucy in this Open run. Lucys indication is to make eye contact with Amanda before turning away in disgust. Notice that with Rat 2 that Lucy does exactly this. Amanda is not sure and brings Lucy back for a second sniff at which point Lucy paws the tube. We taught her to paw an active tube by starting with Tupperware containers, no rats, but one Tupperware would contain her dinner. She would have to paw that container which held her food. We progressed to tubes.
