My daughter Audreys school, McCall Elementary has now lost its only police officer. The District has decided in its infinite wisdom that over 700 children and dozens of teachers, staff members and parent volunteers are not worthy of even this baseline protection. I have seen Officer Brown in action, over the 7 years that I have been involved with the school, and I particularly value how he interacts with children who might be candidates for discipline in other schools. He has just the right balance of authority and empathy. He will be missed.
