My daughter asked me What is the turning point in your life that made you a manager or a person you are now txt lang daw ayaw ng nobelang sagot! When the manager in-charge of the trucking operation in my previous company resigned, I volunteered to handle the job as an additional assignment with little compensation. I was inexperience and anybody would think it was an unwise decision since the dept. was consistently losing money and handling it means extra effort and extra time to reverse its negative performance there is also a possibility of losing my job if the situation gets worse. Fears were in me subconciously but I never entertained them instead I told myself it will be a challenge, a new learning experience and whatever effort and time I would put in to my new assignment I would surely reap its long term benefit. Despite of the improvements in terms of operations, the economic situation did not cooperate. The price of diesel went up to a point where the management had to sell the fleet to avoid further losses! All these happened in almost a year and this gave me enough training in handling a trucking operation. I didnt have to resign from work since my original assignment was IT head but I quit my job as a sympahty to my staff, drivers and helpers who were displaced when the fleet was sold. I bought a truck and started a trucking business, visionary as I might be.. thanks for my decision to take the risk it forced me learn the intricacies of trucking.. my business gave me fortune and is doing well until now!. I have fears but I can overcome them and so I am never afraid to take the risk... I may fail in my pursuit a hundred times but it will never discourage me to give it another try.
