My daughter just celebrated her one year old on 31/7. This is my 1st time submitting my report card to TBAN members 😜 I was diagnosed with hyper-thyroid when I was carrying her. I was on thyroid medication until 2 weeks before my EDD then stopped until recently back on the medication again due to high thyroid reading. I am lucky to say that my Breastfeeding journey has not been a bumpy one as I have not suffered from mastitis as some of you had, just occasional blocked ducts and engorgement. My supply only kicked in on the 6th day post natal so I have also supplemented with fm in the early days. I build up my supply mostly in the first 2 months by constant dl and pumping at midnight to early morning after dl. My daughter has relatively small appetite thus I was slightly oversupply for the 1st 5-6 months then just enough from 6 to 11 months, supplementing with fm once a day since 11 months till now. Ive once had my freezer full of fbm that I have to give some away and then Ive also had times when I run out of stock and had to supplement with fm. Ive never worked real hard to make sure my fbm stock are full or power pump to increase my supply. Not sure if it has to do with my hyper-thyroid, my daughter has always been on a leaner side, in fact she hasnt triple her birth weight at one. I was once worried but not anymore because she is happy, healthy and 💪 too... Sorry for being so long-winded. I really hope I can encourage new moms to bf their babies. Dont stress, enjoy breastfeed ❤️❤️ I find that youll tend to bf longer when it comes naturally to you 😊. Dl when baby is with u, that way Ull only need to pump when your baby is away. I always find pumping a real chore 😜😜
